Five teams from Bangladesh have successfully secured spots in the University Rover Challenge (URC) 2026 Finals, following a rigorous and "incredibly competitive" System Acceptance Review (SAR).

The following teams will represent Bangladesh on the global stage: Aviation and Aerospace University, Bangladesh’s AAUB Rover71, BRAC University’s BRACU Mongol Tori, Military Institute of Science and Technology’s MIST Mongol Barota, Islamic University of Technology’s Project Altair, and United International University’s UIU Mars Rover.

The 2026 challenge took off with 116 teams from 18 countries. Participants had to submit detailed written reports and video demonstrations of their rovers, which were evaluated by a professional panel of judges. Out of these, only 38 teams from 11 countries received the invitation to compete at the Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS) in Utah, USA, scheduled to take place from May 27 to 30.

The finalists now enter a critical two-and-a-half-month preparation phase to refine their rover systems, perform advanced testing, and complete final mission preparations.
