Indian Navy ship arrives in Chittagong port on goodwill visit
Indian Navy ship INS Sunayna arrived at Chittagong Port today on a three-day goodwill visit to Bangladesh.
Upon the vessel’s arrival, commander Chattogram Naval Area welcomed the ship’s commanding officer, officers, and sailors.
A smartly turned-out Bangladesh Navy band also accorded the visiting ship a traditional ceremonial reception.
Senior Bangladesh Navy officials, along with representatives from the Indian High Commission in Bangladesh, were present on the occasion.
Earlier, after entering Bangladesh’s maritime boundary, the visiting vessel was received by Bangladesh Navy ship BNS Ali Haider.
During the visit, a delegation comprising the commanding officer of INS Sunayna and the naval adviser to the Indian High Commission in Bangladesh is scheduled to pay courtesy calls on the commander of Chattogram Naval Area, commander of BN Fleet, area superintendent of dockyard and the chairman of Chittagong Port Authority.
As part of the itinerary, officers and sailors of the visiting ship will tour Bangladesh Navy training establishments and naval ships, alongside historical and tourist attractions in Chattogram.
Bangladesh Navy personnel will also visit the Indian naval vessel.
INS Sunayna is scheduled to leave Bangladesh waters on May 10.
