JP spent Tk 5.05 lakh for 13th national polls

Party says it did not allocate funds for individual campaigns

Jatiya Party spent Tk 5.05 lakh for electioneering in the 13th Parliamentary Election held on February 12 this year.

The party submitted its election expenditure account to the Election Commission (EC) today.

On behalf of Jatiya Party Chairman Golam Mohammad Quader, Additional Secretary General Rezaul Islam Bhuiyan filed the statement.

According to the statement, 196 Jatiya Party candidates contested the election. However, the party did not allocate any funds for individual campaigns.

Instead, the party spent Tk 3.25 lakh on electioneering, Tk 1.15 lakh on public rallies, and Tk 65,000 on staff expenses.

The account further said that the expenditure was made through a Prime Bank PLC Banani branch account, which currently has a balance of Tk 38,500.
