Metro rail services halted for 15 minutes after balloon gets stuck on power line
Metro rail services were suspended for about 15 minutes today after a gas balloon got caught in a high-voltage power line near Karwan Bazar.
The incident was reported to the MRT Police Control Room around 12:50pm, said Rayhan Ul Islam Ratul, an operator at the control room.
The balloon had drifted onto the overhead electric line, prompting authorities to suspend train movement on the section as a precaution.
A response team later removed the balloon, and train operations resumed at 1:04pm, he added.
