17 SPs promoted to additional DIG

The government today promoted 17 superintendents of police (SPs) to the rank of additional deputy inspector general.

The home ministry issued a circular in this regard today.

The order, issued in public interest, will come into effect immediately, it added.

Md Anwar Hossain, SP of Industrial Police, has been made addl DIG of PBI; Kamrul Hasan Mahmud, special SP at Special Branch, has been promoted to addl DIG of SB; Tofayel Ahmed deputy commissioner of RpMP, is now the addl commissioner (addl DIG) of RpMP; Sufian Ahmed, deputy commissioner of DMP, has been made joint police commissioner (addl DIG) of the same unit; Md Bashir Uddin, special SP of CID, has been promoted to addl DIG of CID; Md Moniruzzaman, special SP of Dhaka SB, is now the addl DIG of the same unit; Hossain Mohammad Kabir Bhuiyan, deputy commissioner of CMP, has been made the addl DIG of CMP; Md Mahbubul Karim, AIG of Police HQ Dhaka has been made addl DIG of Police HQ.

Md Al Mamun, deputy commissioner of RMP, is now its additional commissioner (addl DIG); Md Asaduzzaman, SP of Industrial Police‑4, Narayanganj, has been made addl DIG of Police HQ Dhaka; Md Anisur Rahman, special SP of Dhaka SB, is now its addl DIG; Dr AKM Akhtaruzzaman Bosunia, SP of Rangpur Range DIG Office, has been promoted to addl DIG, Police Staff College, Dhaka; Md Jahangir Alam, AIG of Police HQ Dhaka, is now its addl AIG; Md Hayatun Nabi, special SP of Dhaka SB, has been made addl DIG of CID; Md Abdullah Al Mamun, AIG of Police HQ Dhaka, has been made addl DIG of Dhaka PBI; Afroza Parvin, SP of Dhaka Police Staff College, has been promoted to its addl DIG; Md Tofayel Ahmed Mia, SP of Dhaka Railway Police, has been made its addl DIG.
