Four detained over Beribadh murder

Police have detained four individuals in connection with the murder of 28-year-old Asadul Haque, also known as “Lambu Asadul,” in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur area.  

The detainees have been identified as Munna, Akhtar, Arif, and Bakul.  

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Tejgaon Division, Md Jewel Rana, confirmed the arrests but said further details about the detainees could not be disclosed immediately.  

According to police and local sources, the murder took place in the early hours of Thursday in the Beribadh area near Sadek Khan brickfield in Mohammadpur.

Asadul was accused in at least five cases, including those related to drugs and snatching, said Fazlul Karim, additional deputy commissioner (admin) of Tejgaon Division Police.  

This was the second such killing in the area within four days in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur area.
