Heavy rainfall may trigger waterlogging in parts of Dhaka: BMD

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in parts of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Barishal and Sylhet divisions over 48 hours, from 11:00 am today, due to active monsoon conditions.

In a special bulletin issued today, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said heavy rainfall means 44 mm to 88 mm of rain within 24 hours, while very heavy rainfall refers to more than 88 mm during the same period.

The BMD also warned that very heavy rain could cause temporary waterlogging in parts of the Dhaka metropolitan area.
