'Resist distortion of liberation war history'
Prof Ahmad, chairman of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) Trustee Board, also called on all to revive the spirit of the War of Liberation in order to resolve any crisis.
The discussion followed the inauguration of 'Alokchhitre Ekattor' (1971 in photograph), an album of unpublished photographs taken by freedom fighter SM Shafi, and launching of a web site at the National Press Club.
Talking about the photographs, Prof Ahmad said Shafi's photographs are not only snapshots of the battlefields, rather those are the documents of the struggle of people during the War of Liberation.
Litterateur Selina Hossain said it might be possible to come to power through distorting history, but real history could not be suppressed for a long time.
About the album, she said the role of women in the liberation war has been portrayed in Shafi's photographs.
Sector Commander Lt Col (retd) Abu Osman Chowdhury, Country Director of Hunger Project Bangladesh Dr Badiul Alam Majumdar and Shafi's wife Jamila Khatun also spoke.
