Robbery in 14 buses, cabs

Witnesses said a gang of around 35 robbers put up a barricade on the road and looted the cash and valuables from the passengers from 8:00pm to 9:30pm.

The gang also stabbed five passengers with sharp weapons while they tried to resist them.

Of the injured, Sumon, 25, was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and two others -- shop owner Idris Ali, 30, and farmer Probhab Chandra, 32, -- to local clinics.

Later, the police visited the spot but none was arrested in this connection.
