Elderly woman shot dead

The victim was identified as Mamtaz Begum, 60, a resident of Shipahibagh in Khilgaon area.

The gang stormed into the house of the victim at around 2:45pm looking for her grandson Khurshed Alam, said the police.

Failing to find out him, the gang ransacked the house and shot Mamtaz in her abdomen. She died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital at 9:00pm.
