Kidnapped man rescued in C'nwabganj

Tipped-off, a Rab team conducted raid at Himel Decorator at Arambag area in the town and rescued Mojibur Rahman Badal, 46, a resident of Golapbag KM Das Lane of Dhaka city, and arrested eight people in this connection.

The miscreants kidnapped him from Dhaka along with Tk 23,000 in cash and a mobile phone on December 9 and took him away in a microbus.

They demanded a ransom of Tk 3.5 lakh from his wife Rebeka Sultana, Rab sources yesterday said quoting a complaint lodged by Rebeka.

The arrested persons have been identified as Saidur Rahman Dulu, 40, Afzal Hossain, 38, Muhammad Ali Mondal, 29, Azizur Rahman, 32, Rentu, 21, Chand, 22, Golam, 30, and Abul Kalam, 40. All are the residents of different area in Chapainawabganj town, Rab sources said.

A case was filed with the concerned police station in this connection and the arrested persons were handed over to police.
