Pro-BNP lawyers protest probe report on vandalism

The Supreme Court Bar Association published the investigation report on Sunday. It formed an eight-member committee on December 4 to investigate the incident.

In a statement issued by Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum yesterday, the lawyers said that reports of different newspapers and the electronic media showed that several pro-Awami League lawyers were involved in the vandalism. And two cases were also filed against those responsible.

But the probe committee claimed that no lawyers were involved in the incident, which is completely false, they said.

They also said that Supreme Court Bar Association has no right to form such investigation committees.

The signatories to the statement include Justice TH Khan, Khandaker Mahbub Uddin Ahmad, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Justice Habibul Islam Bhuiyan, Barister Nazmul Huda, Barrister Mohammad Aminul Haq, Barrister Shahjahan Omar and Nitai Roy Chowdhury.
