Eid-ul Azha in Chandpur villages today
Eid-ul Azha is being celebrated in some 45 villages under five upazilas of Chandpur district today to keep consistency with the people of Saudi Arabia and other Muslim countries.
Thousands of followers of late Pir Maulana Md Ishaq Khan celebrate the Eid in line with Saudi Arabia for the last 40 years, said Aulads (sons) of the Pir at Shadra Darbar Sharif in Hajiganj upazila.
The villages are Shadra, Someshpur, Olipur, Bolakhal, Monihar, Volachow, Sonachow, Protappur, Jakhni, Bashara in Hajiganj, Uvarampur, Munshirhat, Oottoli, Mulpara, Aitpara, Badar-pur, Surangachal, Govindapur, Hasha, Sholla, Sachonmegh, Noorpur, Kaitapara, Baluthuba under Faridganj, Doshani, Pachani and Mohonpur under Matlab North and some other villages under Shahrasti and Kochua upazilas of the district.
