NSU launches 10th National Career Fair with 3-day programme

North South University inaugurated the 10th National Career Fair at the NSU Plaza on Saturday, 01 February 2026, marking a significant milestone in the university’s efforts to connect academic learning with industry demands.

Organised by the Career and Placement Center (CPC) and presented by MGH Group, the three-day event has brought together leading local and global organisations to engage with students and aspiring graduates, creating employment and networking opportunities, says a press release.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Syed Iqbal Ali Shimul, Managing Director of MGH Group; Aziz Al Kaiser, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of North South University; Benajir Ahmed, Founder Life Member and Former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of North South University; Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor of North South University; Nasar Uddin Ahmed, Pro-Vice Chancellor of North South University; and Abdur Rob Khan, Treasurer of North South University.

The ceremony began with a welcome address by Farzana Nahid, Director of the Career and Placement Center. She said, “The National Career Fair reflects our commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for students and graduates to connect with leading employers. Through this platform, we aim to support their transition from academic life to the professional world by encouraging networking, skill development, and career exploration.”

Syed Iqbal Ali Shimul said, “Reaching this milestone reflects North South University’s long-standing commitment to bridging the gap between academic excellence and industry readiness. Globalisation, digital transformation, sustainability challenges, and changing customer expectations are reshaping industries worldwide. In this context, career fairs like this are no longer just recruitment events; they are platforms for inspiration, learning, and meaningful connections.”

Abdur Rob Khan said, “In this career fair, students and soon-to-be graduates will be looking to build their careers through direct interaction with employers on campus. It is no longer simple for students to graduate and then search for jobs; they must prepare throughout their academic life by developing competitiveness, competency, attitude, and aptitude.”

Nasar Uddin Ahmed said, “North South University strongly believes that academic excellence must be complemented by strong industrial engagement. The National Career Fair serves as a vital platform where education meets employment and aspirations transform into opportunities. This flagship event reflects our renewed commitment to preparing students for the rapidly evolving global market.”

Benajir Ahmed said, “This is a valuable opportunity for our students and graduates, while participating companies can recruit talent according to their needs. It is not just an event; it serves as a bridge between academia, students, and employers, helping our graduates position themselves in the global arena.”

Aziz Al Kaiser said, “North South University was founded on the strong belief that education should not merely prepare students for jobs but should give them leadership, strength, integrity, and impact. As the world is driven by technology, global uncertainty, and constant disruption, this belief is more relevant than ever. Our goal is to prepare students for leadership so they can face different situations in life.”

Abdul Hannan Chowdhury said, “More than a hundred local and global companies are participating in this event. They will interact with job seekers and students, sharing how and when they recruit and explaining their recruitment processes. This is a grand occasion for students and job seekers to learn in many ways, add value to themselves, and become more organised in seeking employment.”
