CABINET DISCUSSES DHAR'S REPORT

Bangladesh Cabinet today discusses the report presented to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by DP Dhar, chairman of the policy planning committee of the Indian external affairs ministry, on matters relating to the India-Pakistan emissary level talks. Bangabandhu presides over the meeting. The Cabinet also discusses the steps that are to be followed after Bangladesh's entry into the Commonwealth. Various other national problems also come up for discussion before the Cabinet.

$21 MILLION SWEDISH AID FOR BANGLADESH

Bangladesh and Sweden today sign an agreement on a 21-million-dollar grant to Bangladesh for reconstruction and development. The donation will be used by the government of Bangladesh for high priority imports of equipment, raw materials and food.

MULK RAJ ANAND CALLS ON BANGABANDHU

Renowned Indian writer Mulk Raj Anand today calls on Bangabandhu at Gono Bhaban and presents him a manuscript titled 'History of Bangladesh: On Ancient Art and Culture' which he wrote during his recent visit to North Bengal.

HUMAN SKELETONS UNEARTHED NEAR ROKEYA HALL

A large number of human skeletons are unearthed from behind Rokeya Hall of the Dhaka University. The skeletons are believed to be of those killed by the Pakistan army on the night of March 25 in 1971. A wristwatch is found among the skeletons, which is identified as having belonged to Nasir Uddin, an employee of Dhaka University who was killed on March 25, 1971. The skeletons are taken to the Dhaka University Mosque where janaza prayer is held. After janaza the skeletons are buried in the university burial ground.

BHUTAN-BANGLADESH JOINT COMMUNIQUE

Bangladesh and Bhutan declare their firm determination to work unceasingly for stability, progress, peace and prosperity in the region. In a joint communique issued today on the conclusion of a six-day visit by Bhutanese Foreign Minister Lyonpo Tsering to Bangladesh the two governments also declare their determination to adhere to the policy of non-alignment. The foreign ministers of the two countries also express their desire to take positive steps to develop trade between the two countries. It is also noted that the possibility of the development of water resources through joint ventures can open up opportunities for fruitful cooperation between the two countries.
