Dhaka jail’s under-construction gate falls apart

The main gate of Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj, which was under construction, fell apart today leaving several persons injured.

The incident took place around 9:00am this morning, said Monirul Islam, officer-in-charge of South Keraniganj Police Station.

Suspicions are that it was poor grade construction that led to the incident.

The injured were given primary treatment, the OC added.
