Investigators have found extramarital affair behind the incident of Badda twin murder of father and his daughter, and arrested two persons in this regard.

Shahin Mallik, a sub-let tenant of the victim’s residence, and his wife Masuma Begum were arrested from Khulna, said Ashraful Kabir, senior assistant commissioner (Badda zone) told The Daily Star.

A case was filed against Shahin Mallik and victim’s wife Arjina Begum over the murder, said Kazi Wazed Ali, officer-in-charge of Badda Police Station.

During interrogation, Arjina said to have admitted to be in an extra-marital affair with Shahin.

Jamil Sheikh, 38, was a private car driver by profession. His daughter Nusrat Sheikh was 9, a class-III student of Badda International School. They were found dead at the family's rented garret on the roof of a two-storey building in North Badda.

After autopsy, a doctor at Dhaka Medical College morgue said Jamil's head was struck several times with something hard, causing severe wounds, while Nusrat was strangulated.
