Kshitij staves off local challenge  to win Chattogram Open

Kshitij Naveed Kaul of India staved off the challenge from the local golfers to claim the title of the Mujib Borsho 4th Chattogram Open on Saturday.

Two-time PGTI winner Kshitij returned a card of four-under-par at the Bhatiary Golf and Country Club today to comfortably win the title of the 50,00,000-lakh-rupee event with a six-stroke lead.

The 21-year-old, who took the lead in the third round, finished with an aggregate of 19-under (269), beating Siddikur Rahman (13-under-275) to second position.

Siddikur, the two-time Asian Tour winner from Bangladesh, managed a three-under in the last round.

Akbar Hossain, who held the lead in the first two rounds, finished tied third alongside Badal Hossain with a matching score of 11-under (277).

Sunit Chowrasia of India finished fifth at 278 while Zamal Hossain Mollah was a further stroke behind at sixth position.
