Bomb kills one, injures six teachers in Karachi
A bomb exploded on a road in the Pakistani port city of Karachi yesterday, killing one person and injuring six teachers with an Islamic seminary, police said.
The teachers, from the Jamiah Rashdiya Islamic seminary, appeared to be the target of the bomb which hit their vehicle, Karachi police chief Tariq Jamil said.
The blast killed an electrician who had been travelling with them, he said.
"We are investigating but we do not know the motives behind the attack," Jamil told AFP.
Senior police investigator Fayyaz Leghari said their vehicle was targetted by a remote control bomb.
