Stop appointment of unqualified teachers
violating RU Syndicate rules, has initiated appointment of five
non-veterinary teachers in the department.
They made the allegation at a press conference held at a classroom in the department. They demanded cancellation of the appointment process.
The five teachers chosen for appointment have no knowledge about animal husbandry science and none of them have the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
The five are Abdul Bari, Jugol Kumar Sarker, Arifur Rahman, Sayed Sarwar Zahan and Dr Mamunur-Rashid.
As per RU Syndicate rule, a teacher without DVM degree and veterinary science (honors and masters) degree can not be appointed in the department, they said.
Without DVM degree a teacher can not provided education to veterinary students, they said.
Earlier in the morning, they submitted a memorandum to RU Vice-chancellor Prof Faisul Islam Faruki at his office and demanded
cancellation of the appointment process in the interest of students and the university.
They urged the VC to intervene to stop the appointments. Prof Dr Jalal Uddin Sarder, Prof Dr Golber Hossain, Prof Dr Khandoker
Mojaffar Hossain and Prof Dr SM Khamruzzman were present, among others, at the press conference
When contacted, the department Chairman Prof Mamtajur Rahman over telephone, he said, "I heard about the complaint. I can not say anything about the matter right now".
