4 get life for Bagerhat AL leader murder

Four convicts are Shaikh Mohammod Ali, Shaikh Zakir, Mukto Shaikh and Ruhul Amin Gulder. Three of them were tried in absentia while Mohammod Ali is in jail.

The court also fined each of them Tk 30,000, in default, to suffer three years' imprisonment more.

The victim was murdered in bomb and gun attacks by the convicts while taking tea at a restaurant at Sarafpur crossing at 8:30pm on June 2, 2003.

Khulna Speedy Trial Tribunal Judge MA Samad delivered the judgement.
