Pirgachha OC closed

The superintendent of police (SP) of Rangpur, Mahbub Morshed closed Pirgachha Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Golam Mostafa for his ‘reluctance to investigate’ a case relating to acid throwing at Najor Mamud village and to nab the culprits. A woman named Fatema and his son Khairul were seriously injured when culprits threw acidon them on April 22.

The victims alleged that Tozammel, Sadek Ali, Masud, Saidul, and Taizul of the same village threw acid on them. But the OC did not take any step to nab them although they were staying at the village since occurrence of the incident.

While contacted, the SP confirmed closure of the OC saying, proper action will be taken against him if the allegation proved to be true.
