JS session resumes today

The 11th session of the 10th parliament resumes at 5:30pm today after a 16-day recess.

On July 30, Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury adjourned the session till July 17, after the passage of the Tk 3,40,605 crore budget for the 2016-17 fiscal.

The budget session began on June 1 and Finance Minister AMA Muhith placed the proposed budget the day after.

A total of 242 lawmakers took part in the discussion on the proposed budget for 58 hours and 11 minutes.

The current session is scheduled to continue till July 28.
