NSU Earth Club presents Encounters 7

Encounters was a theme based three-dimensional gallery where members of Earth Club of North South University brought into focus different environmental issues so that the audience could better understand the club's concern about the environment and relate it to their surroundings. The event was primarily a theme based photo exhibition in a natural setup that portrayed varied environmental issues, which members the club had encountered over the past years.
Every year the club attracts scores of students with this interesting event. This is also an awareness raising programme through which the club is promoting the idea of environmental friendly behaviour.
This year the theme is 'Planet Earth in 2050', portraying all the problems that the world would be facing by 2050 due to over consumption of natural resources. Subsequently it also showed all the small steps that could be taken for a better future.
The event was divided into 10 segments and they were news room, hi-tech civilisation, drought, resource depletion, global warming, polluted area, sustainable community, realisation room, a photo booth and a documentary section.

A Rose for Education

Stamford University Volunteers (SUVs), a student club of Stamford University Bangladesh, spend Valentine's Day raising funds for school children in slums, through 'A Rose for Education' campaign. During February 12-14, they sold roses to students and staff of the university and raised funds. The money they collected will be donated to a school to help them buy stationary. Members of the club enthusiastically sold roses while staff and students were excited to purchase those roses which helped them contribute to a good cause. They receive huge response from student and university authorities. The club would like to thank everyone who contributed to this generous initiative.
