Bank recruitment tests under Ahsanullah University postponed

The Bangladesh Bank today decided to postpone upcoming two recruitment tests that are scheduled to be held under the responsibility of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST).

The two recruitment tests of Sonali and Janata are scheduled to be held on November 13 and 20, said Md Serajul Islam, spokesperson and an executive director of the central bank.

He said that the banking regulator has taken the decision against AUST due to its alleged involvement in leaking question papers of preliminary tests of five state-owned banks.

The university was tasked with preparing questions for exams for the post of officers (cash) of five banks under the Bankers' Selection Committee of the BB.

The exams were held on November 6.

The BB yesterday sought explanation from AUST about the question paper leak.

The university was asked to send reply to the explanation by November 14.

Islam said that the central bank will take next decisions after it receive the probe reports from the law enforcement agencies and reply of the explanation from AUST.
