Star Business Report

The commerce ministry has extended the deadline for holding elections to executive councils of all trade bodies till December 31 this year.

The ministry took the decision today, according to a circular issued by the ministry.

The time has been extended to discourage the public gatherings as part of efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19 infections, it said.

Following the ministry's decision, the business organisations, which deadline for holding elections have already ended or will end by this year, can continue their functions by December 31, the ministry sources said.
