Grameenphone's profit drops 16.68pc

Grameenphone's net profit plunged 16.68 per cent year-on-year to Tk 890 crore in the January to March quarter of 2021.

The leading telecom company reported total revenue of Tk 3,481 crore for the first three months of the current year, registering a 3.7 per cent de-growth.

In the quarter, its subscriber base rose by 17 lakh to hit 8.07 crore. Of the 8.07 crore, 4.17 crore are using internet, according to a statement released by the mobile phone company yesterday.

The telecom operator now has 2.15 crore 4G users.

Today till 11.37 am, Grameenphone's stock price dropped 0.77 per cent to Tk 337.
