Most BGMEA factories paid February salary, Eid bonus, says trade body
Almost all member factories of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) have paid February salaries and Eid bonuses, BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan said today.
At a press briefing at BGMEA in Dhaka, he said 99.91 percent of factories have completed February salary payments, while two factories are in the process of paying workers.

Similarly, 99.81 percent of factories have completed Eid bonus payments, with four factories yet to finish disbursement.
He also said 64.03 percent of factories have paid partial salaries for March, although such payments are not legally mandatory.
The Eid holiday began on March 17, with 50 percent of factories having announced holidays on the first day of the vacation.
The remaining 50 percent of factories will announce holidays by today or tomorrow, he said.
