Stocks again on gaining streak
The stock market continued to rise for the last two consecutive trading days thanks to higher investor participation.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, went up 18.27 points, or 0.33 per cent, to close at 5,479.61 today.
The improving situation of the pandemic has brought in the buoyancy, according to market analysts.
Turnover, an important indicator of the stock market, surged 24 per cent to Tk 1,172 crore.
At the DSE, 152 stocks advanced, 128 declined and 71 remained unchanged.
Bangladesh National Insurance topped the gainers' list that rose 9.98 per cent followed by Provati Insurance, Paramount Insurance, City General Insurance and Sonar Bangla Insurance.
Fareast Finance shed the most with a 5.88 per cent fall followed by JMI Syringes, BIFC, Fu-Wang Ceramics and National Life Insurance.
