Dhaka Bank joins Int’l Friendship Medical Mission as CSR partner
Dhaka Bank PLC has joined the 8th International Friendship Medical Mission in Dhaka as its corporate social responsibility (CSR) partner.
The humanitarian initiative, organised by Smile Asia, a global alliance of charitable organisations dedicated to treating children with congenital facial deformities and improving healthcare services, began yesterday at the Government Employees Hospital in Dhaka.
The programme will continue until July 24, according to a press release.
Md Ismail Zabihullah, adviser to the Ministry of Public Administration, inaugurated the weeklong programme as the chief guest.
Equipped with four operating tables, the mission aims to provide comprehensive medical assessments and surgical treatment to 100 children with cleft lip and cleft palate.
Osman Ershad Faiz, managing director of Dhaka Bank PLC, and Abhimanya Talukdar, secretary general of Smile Asia, attended the inauguration. Speaking at the ceremony, Osman thanked Smile Asia, SAJIDA Foundation and the Government Employees Hospital for organising the international medical mission.
He also expressed gratitude to the chief guest, senior government officials and the hospital authorities for their support.
Reaffirming Dhaka Bank’s commitment to responsible banking and social development, he praised Smile Asia for bringing internationally renowned medical specialists to Bangladesh for the initiative.
He also commended the efforts of the SAJIDA Foundation, healthcare professionals, volunteers and supporting personnel for serving underprivileged communities.
Through the partnership, the bank reaffirmed its commitment to supporting humanitarian initiatives that expand access to healthcare and make a positive impact on communities across Bangladesh.
Among others, Md Ehsanul Haque, senior secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, and Kamruzzaman Chowdhury, secretary of the Ministry of Health, were also present.
