United Insurance wins IDRA Insurance Excellence Award

United Insurance Company Limited has received the IDRA Insurance Excellence Award 2025 in recognition of its contribution to Bangladesh’s insurance sector.

The award was presented to Khandaker Moinul Ahsan, chairman of United Insurance Company Limited, at a ceremony organised by the Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority, says a press release.

The Insurance Excellence Award was introduced by IDRA this year to promote ethical practices, transparency and good governance within the insurance industry, with the aim of strengthening customer confidence. United Insurance was placed among the top five non-life insurance companies under the award framework.

The ceremony, held recently at a hotel in the capital, was attended by Anisuzzaman Chowdhury, special assistant to the chief adviser of the government, as chief guest, and Nazma Mobarek, secretary of the Financial Institutions Division, as special guest.

Other attendees included Adiba Ahmed, first vice-president of the Bangladesh Insurance Association, and BM Yusuf Ali, president of the Bangladesh Insurance Forum. Fazlul Haque, member (administration) of IDRA, delivered the welcome address. Khandaker Zahin Ahsan, director of United Insurance Company Limited, was also present.

After receiving the award, Khandaker Moinul Ahsan said the recognition would encourage the company to continue contributing to the development of the country’s insurance sector.

United Insurance Company Limited is a publicly listed non-life insurer in Bangladesh. Established in 1985, the company provides a range of insurance services and operates nationwide.
