Catching Fire
If you're hearing from people that “Catching Fire” is worth the watch, then believe them. It's nothing like the first instalment of “The Hunger Games”. This movie actually goes into the depth of the plot and tries to relate to Suzanne Collin's book series.
The movie carries on from the last movie with Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta winning The Hunger Games in the most unusual manner: through love and sacrifice. While Katniss is caught between her old love and the new one, protecting her family, and surviving the trauma of the games, a revolution is in the making in the different districts. Katniss' defiance to the rules of the games was a beacon of hope to the other district.
“Catching Fire” has much less action than the first movie, which is actually a good thing. Less action means there is more room for emotions and character building, which were carried out well throughout the movie.
Jennifer Lawrence, in my opinion, gave a brilliant performance in the movie, maybe even better than her Oscar-winning performance in “The Silver Lining Playbook”. But of course, “The Hunger Games” isn't winning any Oscar.
Even if you are not a fan of the book series, you'd enjoy watching the movie with all the suspense and thrill. I'll admit, it's nothing deep like “The Dark Knight” but it definitely isn't as lame as “Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix”. In a time of oborodh and conspiracies and what not, this is the perfect movie to watch.
P.S. If people have also been telling you that it has a nice Coldplay song at the end, don't believe them.
