Certificate Giving Ceremony for Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

The certificate giving ceremony for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (Gold) took place on September 9, 2013 at the residence of the British High Commissioner in Dhaka. This year, the Gold Award went to 55 students from three institutions — University of Dhaka, Bangladesh International Tutorial and Maple Leaf International School. Participants from these institutions successfully accomplished all the required activities of Gold Level after completing previous two levels — Bronze and Silver.
Robert W. Gibson, the British High Commissioner to Bangladesh, hosted the ceremony. Among others, Mirza Salman Ispahani, Managing Director, M.M. Ispahani Limited; Jim McCabe, CEO, Standard Chartered Bank Bangladesh; Azizul Huq, Managing Director, GlaxoSmithKline Bangladesh; A.K. Shamsuddin Khan, Chairman, A.K. Khan Group; and Sayeeful Islam, Managing Director, Concord Garments Group, were present at the ceremony. The ceremony ended with a vote of thanks by Azizul Huq, Secretary, Trustee Board, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Foundation Bangladesh.
