The High Court yesterday granted ad-interim bail to BNP leader Amanullah Aman in five vandalism and arson cases.

The cases were filed with Paltan, Mugda, Mohammadpur and Motijheel police stations during the hartals and blockades enforced by the BNP-led 20-party-alliance since this January 5.

Aman's lawyer Sagir Hossain Leon said his client, who is now in the prison cell of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, cannot get release now as he has so far secured bail in 20 cases out of 69.
