Bangla Academy's diamond jubilee today

Bangla Academy will celebrate its 60th anniversary today, said a press release.

A two-day programme, including a jubilee celebration lecture by VB Ganeshan of Chennai, India, has been arranged.

Finance Minister Abul Mal Abdul Muhit will inaugurate the programme where Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor and the academy's President Prof Emeritus Anisuzzaman will be present.

West Bengal Bangla Academy's President Sauli Mitra, and Bangio Sahittyo Parisad's President Baridbaran Ghosh will also attend. A paper reading session and a cultural programme will be held tomorrow.
