BU students of 4 depts demand shift to main campus

Students of Bangla, English, Physics, and Geology departments of Barisal University yesterday started boycotting classes and examinations demanding relocation of their temporary campus to the main campus in Karnakati outside the city.

University sources said the departments were in the city's two buildings, where two secondary schools are supposed to be inaugurated Saturday.

The BU students said they were reluctant to continue study with school students at the same place.

The BU authorities said it would take time to meet the demand.

Meanwhile, some BU students blocked Barisal-Patuakhali highway for half an hour in Karnakati protesting "misbehaviour" of a bus helper with one of their fellows.
