Classes of JU environ dept not convening for 28 days

All academic activities at the environmental sciences department of Jahangirnagar University has been halted for about a month as the authorities concerned have failed to resolve the ongoing crisis regarding transfer of the department to a new building. 

Meanwhile, the probe team formed to investigate the situation has failed to submit any report although the deadline to do so has passed.

The students of the department held a protest rally on the campus yesterday pressing home their demand.

The department has been demonstrating since the beginning of the month demanding the transfer. However, they faced resistance from two other departments -- computer science and engineering and geological sciences -- already housed in the building.
