College student goes missing in Jaflong

A college student went missing in the river Piyain in Jaflong of Sylhet yesterday afternoon.

Akikur Rahman Anik, 20, son of Dhola Miah from Nabiganj upazila in Habiganj, is a first year student of the economics department at Murari Chand College, Sylhet, said police.

Abdul Jalil, officer-in-charge of Gowainghat Police Station, said, “Eight friends including Anik went to visit Jaflong this [yesterday] morning. Anik went missing when he tried to swim in the river.”
