A new education portal, myacademybd.com, was launched at The Daily Star Centre in the capital yesterday to provide interactive contents to facilitate e-learning especially for students.

The site has been designed with text books and tutorials from Class-1 to HSC. It also offers instructions on how to write CVs (curriculum vitaes) and official letters.

The portal has a study table where every individual can prepare lessons with fun. The audio-video clips make the site more interesting and engaging for reading and learning, said ATKM Iqbal, founder of the portal.

It also has a campus tab where students can enjoy writing creative contents or can read others, said Iqbal, adding that the online portal will help teachers and guardians get updates about their children's study.

This site will contribute significantly to the education sector, said Shamsuzzaman Khan, director general of the Bangla Academy.

Nazrul Islam Khan, education secretary, hoped that the portal, first of its kind in the country, would bring out the virtual Bangla contents that the country retains.

Khan also stressed the need for involving educational experts in refining the contents.

Students will be benefitted immensely by such e-learning process, said Zia Manzur, country business manager for Intel.

This site has been developed after two and a half years' study, said Iqbal, adding that students will get 60 percent of the contents for free and have to pay for the rest.

He has already made a team with 100 members from leading educational institutions to update the contents regularly.
