CU dramatics department gets new theatre hall

A newly built theatre hall, Zia Hyder Studio, was inaugurated at the Dramatics department of Chittagong University (CU) yesterday.

CU Pro-VC Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury inaugurated the studio established in memory of pioneer dramatist, also the founder of the department, Prof Zia Hyder.

At the event Indian Assistant High Commissioner to Chittagong Somnath Halder, the department's Chairman Ashim Das, former Chairman Kuntal Barua, arts faculty Dean Sekander Chowdhury, and poet Abhik Osman were present.
