CU Sanskrit students lock classrooms for delay in result publication

Students of the Sanskrit department of Chittagong University (CU) yesterday locked their classrooms for around four hours demanding the authorities concerned publish results of their third year finals.

Around 9:00am, the students locked the classrooms, which were opened by the university authorities at 1:00pm, said campus sources.

"Already 14 months have passed and we are yet to get our results," said a student, adding that the department teachers are responsible for the delay.

CU examination controller Prof Mohammad Mohiuddin said the teachers were not publishing the results deliberately.

Prof Shanti Rani Halder, chairman of the department, could not be contacted despite repeated attempts.

Contacted, CU proctor Siraj-Ud-Doullah, said that they would take necessary steps to publish the results soon.
