Danish minister to launch 3-yr project for health, safety of workers

Danish Minister for Employment Jørn Neergaard Larsen arrived in Dhaka yesterday morning to launch a partnership for improving the health and safety of workers in Bangladesh.

The minister visited a RMG factory in Gazipur and a Danish funded rehabilitation centre for the Rana Plaza building collapse victims.

During his four-day visit, Larsen is due to launch a Strategic Sector Cooperation project jointly with his Bangladeshi counterpart, State Minister for Labour and Employment Md Mujibul Haque today.

The project titled "Improving the Health and Safety of Workers in Bangladesh through the Strengthening of Labour Authorities" is a three-year partnership of the ministries in cooperation with stakeholders from the two countries.
