Dhaka reaffirms support for Palestinian state
Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali yesterday reaffirmed Bangladesh's steadfast support to the Palestinian people and to the creation of a viable and sovereign Palestinian state in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions.
He was addressing a meeting in Jakarta attended by 35 ministers marking the Asian-African Conference's (Bandung Conference 1955) 60th anniversary.
He reiterated the Bandung's fundamental undertaking to support any just struggle against colonialism and foreign occupation, says a foreign ministry press release.
He further stressed meaningfully addressing the longstanding resource and capacity constraints of developing countries, least developed ones in particular, during the formulation of Sustainable Development Goals.
He also emphasised modelling a robust and broad-based global partnership in light of mutual trust, respect and common but differentiated responsibility.
Mahmood also held bilateral meetings with his Myanmarese, Libyan and Gambian counterparts. On April 19, Foreign Secretary Md Shahidul Haque attended a Senior Official Meeting.
