DU observes National Mourning Day

Dhaka University yesterday observed Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's 40th death anniversary and National Mourning Day with due solemnity.

Different programmes including, discussions, documentary screening, and milad mahfils, were held  to commemorate the great leader and his family members who were killed on August 15 in 1975.

At 8:00am, teachers and staff led by DU Vice Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique placed wreaths on Bangabandhu's portrait at the capital's Dhanmondi.

An art competition was held at DU's fine arts faculty where Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor was present as chief guest.
