Firecrackers, explosives banned during Shab-e-Barat

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has banned carrying of all types of explosives and explosion of firecrackers in the capital ahead of Shab-e-Barat to be observed across the country tonight.

The ban was imposed under Section 28 of the DMP Ordinance III/1976, aiming to maintain sanctity of Shab-e-Barat.

The restriction will remain in force from 6:00pm today to 6:00am tomorrow, according to a media release signed by DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia yesterday.
