Five BRTA staff hurt as robbers attack Gazipur resort

Five Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) officials have been injured as robbers assaulted them in Bhovanipur Eco Resort under Gazipur sadar upazila yesterday.

Injured BRTA officer Ashrafuzzaman, driver Nurul Islam, BRTA Inspector Wazed Hossain, and resort staff Ismail Hossain were admitted to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital. The identity of another could not be confirmed. The officials went to the resort for a picnic.

A gang of about 30 robbers stormed into the resort around 2:30am, beat them mercilessly and looted all their belongings, said Najmul Hoque, in-charge of Hotapara police outpost.
