Hearing on SQ Chy's appeal continues at SC for fifth day
The defence and state counsels yesterday read out before the Supreme Court prosecution witnesses' statements on the charge against war criminal Salauddin Quader Chowdhury of killing Awami League leader Sheikh Mozaffar Ahmed and his son in Raozan of Chittagong.
The SC will resume hearing today.
Defence lawyer SM Shahjahan and Additional Attorney General Momtaz Uddin Fakir placed the statements during the five day's hearing on the appeal against Salauddin's death penalty given by International Crimes Tribunal-1 on October 1, 2013 for crimes against humanity during the liberation war.
Following instruction of Salauddin, the Pakistani occupation forces killed Mozaffar and his son Sheikh Alamgir in their camp on April 17, 1971.
