Inmate dies at CMCH

A prisoner of Chattogram Central Jail died yesterday morning while undergoing treatment at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH).

The deceased, Md Suman alias Five Star Suman (37), was from Ramganj of Laxmipur.

Kamal Hossain, senior jail superintendent of Chattogram Central Jail, told The Daily Star, "He came to the jail on August 1 last year after being arrested with yaba and firearms by law enforcers from Bayezid Bostami Police Station."

"He had suffered stroke in jail and fell sick on July 12 and was undergoing treatment at the hospital. He passed away this morning," he added.

The body was handed over to his family after autopsy.
