JS body for spreading Joyeeta's activities

The parliamentary standing committee on women and children affairs ministry yesterday suggested spreading the activities of Joyeeta, an initiative for empowering women through economic activities, in rural areas instead of keeping it confined in cities.
The suggestion was made at the committee's meeting at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban, with Committee Chairman Rebeka Momin presiding, said an official release.
Committee members, including State Minister for the ministry Meher Afroze Chumki, attended the meeting.
The meeting held discussion over the measures taken for making a gender sensitive budget and the activities of Ladies' Club under the ministry.
It farther discussed about the development and training courses of Women's Agriculture Institute in Bagerhat and suggested installing a deep tube-well and repairing roads inside it.
It also recommended supplying required computers and other equipments for modernising all training centres.
