Mechatronics engineering dept opens at DU

Dhaka University launched a new department named mechatronics engineering under the faculty of Engineering and Technology yesterday.

DU Vice-Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated it at his office.

Prof Hafiz Muhammad Hassan Babu, of Computer Science and Engineering, has been made chairperson of the new department, which started with 16 first year honours students and three teachers.

The department is housed at Kazi Motahar Hossain Biggan Bhaban (Science Annex Building) of DU.
